Joseph I. Valdez Jr.
December 9, 1921 – October 1, 2017
A resident of San Jose, California.
Our wonderful father, grandfather and great
grandfather passed away on Sunday October 1, 2017.
Joe was born in Walsenburg, Colorado and was the son
of Joseph Sr. and Ucia and brother to Aurora.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rose of 63
years.
He is survived by his daughters Darlene (Steve),
Connie (Dave) and Joanne (Len), brother-in-law Ben (Mary).
Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Julie, David, Brett,
Ben and Crystal.
Great-grandfather of Tyler, Terri, Jadzia, Malcolm,
Joseph, Eric, Amelia and Savannah.
Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a member of St. Victor’s Parish and the
Spanish Heritage Club. He was a Navy
veteran of WWII.
Joe retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 40
years as a Sr. Systems Analyst.
Joe and Rosie loved ballroom dancing, travelling the
world and sharing their lives with their grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation
Tuesday October 10th at 5:00 PM with a rosary
at 7:00 PM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel,
710 Willow St. San Jose. CA
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 11th at
1:00 PM
at St. Victor’s Church, 3150 Sierra Rd, San Jose. CA
followed by interment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association preferred.
