Gary Newquist Navy Days

This page is in honor of Gary M. Newquist for his years of service to the US Navy.
Gary joined the Navy at age 20 in 1958. He received basic training at NTC San Diego.
And he received submariner training at Naval Station Pearl Harbor.
Gary spent the next 3 years as a submariner in the US Navy.
A Navy submariner is a member of the Navy's "silent service"
who operates and maintains a submarine.
Gary served in San Diego, the Western Pacific, Hawaii and Japan.
He was assigned to the USS Raton and the USS Macabi.
Gary was discharged from the Navy on 08/19/1960 as an Engineman Third Class.
