Once Upon A Time

Florence E. Stiff

Once upon a sudden friendship
Two said hearts became as one,
And before they scarcely knew it
They beheld a brighter sun.

Once upon a word of kindness
Faith and hope were born anew,
And the skies that once were dreary
Were again so bright and blue.

Once upon a sincere greeting
Life took on a magic glow,
And the world again had laughter
Hidden thrills began to show.

Once upon a touch so gentle
Followed by a tender kiss,
Hearts once alone and empty
Now o'erflowed with joy and bliss.

Once upon a magic moment
Shattered dreams could live again,
If these hearts weave them together
Day by day and hand in hand.

Once upon a distant future
Is a reward, so I am told,
For rebuilt dreams and hearts united
More radiant than all of gold.

Once upon a golden promise
In the distance church bells chime,
All of this could surely happen
ONCE UPON A TIME.
