In Heaven's Pathway

Florence E. Stiff

There's a dear lonely path in the wildwood
Where we've walked side by side
Once long, long ago in our childhood
And again when you said you'd be my bride.

But I know now that we can never
Roam that pathway any more
But in heaven there is a waiting
A more beautiful path than before.

The stars are all a hiding
The moon doeth cease to shine
There is one now a dying
And leaving a sweetheart behind.

So be true, be true to your lover
To the one who has loved you so dear
And say there'll be no other
To take my place down here.

For I am leaving you now forever
I am going far, far away
On earth we will meet again never
But I'll be waiting in Heaven's Pathway.

Waiting in Heaven's Pathway
Waiting in Heaven's Pathway
On earth we can meet again never
But I'll be waiting in Heaven's Pathway.
