David Earl Stiff was born on May 7, 1949 in a home at 508 Leitchfield Road in Owensboro, Kentucky. He was the 7th child of Robert Sidney Stiff Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Stiff. Dave was born without enough blood in his body and the doctor could not find a vein that was large enough to take a blood count. The doctor did not expect him to live for more than a week. Finally, after multiple tries, the doctor found a vein in Dave's neck that was large enough to have a successful blood transfusion that saved his life.

Dave attended St. Joseph and Paul grammar school and Owensboro Catholic High School. His first job was as a clerk at Jimmy Bunch's Thrifty Farm Food Stores at age 16 in 1965. He also delivered the Louisville Courier Journal in rural Daviess County. Dave eventually worked as a clerk at Winn-Dixie Super Market. Dave graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in June 1967.

In December 1967, Dave joined the U.S. Air Force. He became a Specialist in Ground-to-Air radio repair and received technical training in advanced electronics. Dave worked on the first computer system (RCA AN/GKA-5)
that was used to control Air Force fighter planes from the ground. Dave was stationed at Lackland AFB in Texas,
Keesler AFB in Mississippi, Benton AFS in Pennsylvania and Hamilton AFB in California. At the end of his enlistment, Sgt. Dave Stiff received his honorable discharge at Hamilton AFB in California in June 1971

Dave moved to San Jose, California and began attending San Jose State University.
Dave received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Jose State in June 1975.

Dave began his career in Computer Programming while working at TAB Products Company in Palo Alto
between 1978 to 1989 as a Programmer/Analyst.

Next, Dave worked for BRC in the IT department at the City of Santa Clara as a Sr. Application Development Manager from 1989 to 1998. He was a specialist in all the Financial Applications at the city. Dave also maintained the Payroll and HR applications for the city.

Dave next worked at Interex in Sunnyvale from 1999 to 2005 as a Sr. Programmer/Analyst and Database Project Manager. While at Interex, Dave created a complete Conference Registration application.
Dave’s application was successfully used at 20 HP User Conferences to track over 46,000 attendees.

Next Dave worked at Bank of the West as a Sr. IT Application Engineer from 2006 until he retired from fulltime work in May 2015.

Dave married the love of his life Constance Rose Valdez on June 16,1973.
Dave ❤ Connie have 2 sons - David Gregory Stiff and Brett Joseph Stiff.
David and his wife Brook have 2 children, Jadzia Rose Stiff (born 2005) and
Malcolm Jakob Stiff (born 2010).
Brett and Cheryl Mireles have lived in Colorado Springs, CO since 2019.

Since retirement Dave ❤ Connie have lived in Morro Bay, CA
